My name is Ken Sladovnik, and I am the Youth Director at Notre Dame Catholic Church. I appreciate you taking the time to review our web page to learn more about all of the youth activities offered here at Notre Dame. Currently in my tenth year as youth director, the focus of my program has always been on service, service to our church, service to our community and service to each other.

Please take your time in reviewing the different areas of youth ministry offered here at Notre Dame. If I can answer any questions for you please do not hesitate to give me a call. I would love to have the chance to meet you at an upcoming event and please know you are always welcome to bring a friend.

High School Youth

Notre Dame High School Youth Ministry is a group of 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grade students that meet every Wednesday evening during the school year from 7:00-9:00PM at our Youth Center located across the street from the Church at 2162 S. Zenobia Street. With students from over ten different high schools and a wide variety of extracurricular interests, our weekly discussions about God, family, faith, values, love, peer pressure and spiritual growth, to name a few, are amazing. Additionally, throughout the year we participate in a wide variety of fun and faith building experiences ranging from cosmic bowling, laser tag, hay rides, mini golf outings and college campus visits to local and national youth conferences around the country. Recent youth conferences in Winter Park, Estes Park and San Diego were amazing.

This summer our senior high youth group will attend Catholic Youth Conferences in Downtown Denver and Tucson, Arizona. Planning and registration is already underway but there is still time to get involved. Check out the youth schedule and find out how!

As we mentioned earlier, community service is and always has been at the core of our youth program here at Notre Dame. We feel blessed to be able offer a wide variety of service projects throughout the year for our youth groups to participate in. Recent service projects have included serving meals at the Holy Ghost Soup Kitchen, Ronald McDonald House and Stand Up For Kids homeless teen shelter. We also offer spring and fall home/yard maintenance for the seniors of our parish, adopted and maintain a one mile bike trail that we clean on a monthly basis and perform a beautiful Living Stations of the Cross at various churches during Holy Week to name a few. If you see a service activity you are interested in, please join us but sign up early as they always fill up quickly.

Middle School Youth

Notre Dame Middle School Youth Ministry is a high energy group of 7th & 8th grade students with a great desire to grow in their Catholic Faith. Our group meets every other Thursday during the school year to discuss and participate in a wide variety of topics and activities. Check out the pictures below for recent events our Jr. High Youth Group has participated in and look closely for upcoming Jr. High events. Get involved and remember you can always bring a friend.

Testimonials

eally enjoy attending youth group every Wednesday nigh at Notre Dame. I attend a public school and many of my friends do not share the same religion as I do. It is a relief to have a group of friends my age that I am comfortable sharing my faith, values and beliefs with while have a fun time along the way.

Ever since my dad died I have felt lost. Attending youth group has allowed me to look at God in another perspective and the trips, speakers and friends I have made have been amazing. I feel my self confidence is returning and I thank the youth group for that.

I have been involved with the Notre Dame Youth Group in one way or another for many years. The reason I come back to help is the sense of community that is always here.
